This token appears cleaned. However, according to Sullivan, the gilded brass pieces were heavily coated in an attempt to simulate gold.

A sharp and well-struck piece. Small carbon spots on both obverse and reverse do not detract from the lustre and eye appeal of this token.

WHH 1840-51. William Henry Harrison. 1840. Brass. 25mm. Thin-necked military bust left with three straps and no buttons on coat. No stars on epaulet. DeWitt WHH 1840-51.

Holed for suspension.

Rev: Log cabin has door with three planks and cider barrel has hoops at each end.

An amazingly clear and lustrous strike. A better example cannot be found.
