Obv: Two carbon spots are in the field behind Clay's head.

Rev: The WE is relatively bold, which is uncommon for this variety.

This token appears cleaned. However, according to Sullivan, the gilded brass pieces were heavily coated in an attempt to simulate gold.

Holed, as issued. Unsigned, but McSorley ascribes this piece to the Miller firm of Louisville, KY. The 1845 date on the obverse anticipates the inaugural that was never to be for Clay.
